Dior seeks compensation from Valentino and withdraws its claims

Dior demanded compensation from Valentino following the latter’s couture show in Rome before later withdrawing the claim. The event took place in the Spanish Steps, drawing a crowd of celebrities, influencers and fashion students. According to a report, Valentino has obtained all necessary permits for the show. The brand also sent a letter to Dior’s Italiana boutique, informing them of the upcoming show. In this letter, Valentino “guaranteed regular foot traffic in the stores”.

But that’s not what happened, according to Dior. In the notice, the show caused disruption in the shop, with customers being “denied entry and blocked at the barrier”. Dior then demanded compensation of €100,000 within 15 days for the lost sales. However, this request has since been retracted. Moreover, spectators of the Valentino show and fashion enthusiasts have wondered about the reason for Dior’s request. According to Dior’s new letter, the claim for compensation has been dropped “in view of the friendly relationship between the two Maisons”.

Dua Lipa releases a second collaboration with Puma. The collection pays homage to 90s rave culture and includes 30 retro pieces in neon and jewel tones. This collaboration, called Flutur, includes a tracksuit, a bralette, shorts, skirts and dresses. All items are made to be mixed and matched. “You can style the pieces however you want, you can cut them out, and you can create different and exciting ways to wear them,” Dua Lipa told vogue. “I love pairing the tracksuit or sneakers with more high fashion accessories or even heels for an elevated look.”

“I love the images from the rave culture era of the 90s and 2000s,” she said. “You can feel the energy in them, and fashion was always so fun. These periods inspire everything from my music to the way I dress today, so it was only natural to incorporate some of these combinations of colors and silhouettes in this collection.The collection is available for purchase online and in-store.

Tommy Hilfiger back at NYFW

Tommy Hilfiger returns to NYFW after three years. The American designer returns to the September event, showcasing his FW22 collection via digital and physical formats. It will present the collection in a “see now, buy now” format. “This season is all about colliding my favorite archival inspirations with new live event concepts and virtual worlds,” he said in a statement. “It’s the perfect expression of what we stand for as we pay homage to our roots with a return to NYFW.” The show will take place at Brooklyn’s Skyline Drive-In on September 11.

Kate Moss is at the center of Zara’s new campaign. The latest collection, dubbed Into the Night, features the dazzling British model in her clothes as she leaves taxis, wanders the streets and laughs at the dinner table. The campaign was put together by French fashion editor Emmanuelle Alt and photographed by David Sims, features a mix of back shots and white and color shots. The campaign is a throwback to her party days and the iconic looks of off-duty models from the 90s. The collection features 25 garments, including crystal-embellished dresses, bralettes, silk dresses, bustiers and pants.
